Huautla de Jiménez Mushroom Ceremony
This is our most popular excursion! We spend 5 days touring beautiful Oaxaca City and the surrounding countryside and mountains. On the first couple of days, we have lectures as we tour the local sites and take in the famous Oaxacan cuisine. Each guide has their own specialties, and at a ratio of maximum two guests per guide, you can be assured will receive complete personal attention and instruction. Each of our guides has been to this area repeatedly, and each of us have taken in a great variety of mushroom and other medicinal ceremonies. Our combined experience will ensure you have a profound and safe
experience as we guide you to interact with the spirits of these sacred mountains, the Sierra Madre.
There are two educational and informative day trips near Oaxaca City we will take in as we get to know one another in preparation for the Huautla adventure high in the Sierra Madre mountains. We have been taking these trips nearly every year for some time now, and we are sure that you may also like to add this particular adventure into your future yearly event calendar as well! We like to work with smaller groups due to the significant and sensitive nature of the ceremony, and the personal attention that we all need to give to one another. This excursion is highly recommended for couples who are looking to take their relationship to new levels and discover their true potential and purpose, and is also the perfect set and setting for persons looking to heal. Due to the nature of the concepts which will be exposed to the participants, and the necessary spiritual maturity required, we do not work with people under the age of 24. This guideline will help ensure we will each have a profound direct spiritual mystical encounter with the Divine.
Ceremony
Our ceremonies are very simple and require no special diet or religious faith. However, it is strongly recommended you adhere to a vegan diet for at least one day prior to the ceremony, and do not eat anything the morning of, and until after the ceremony, as it will have a significant impact and diminish the quality and duration of your experience. If you would like to make the utmost of your experience, please follow this comprehensive guide to cleanse your mind and body in advance of your booking date.
We call the type of ceremony we will be conducting The Spiritual Picnic. Our idea is to take people to interact with their creator outside of religion, culture and tradition. As such this is a simple process, but there are specific guidelines to ensure we are all participating in a respectful and appropriate manner. This spirit is not some abstract concept, it interacts directly with us. We are not putting on a show, we leave that to the spirit, we merely set the stage. Over the many experiences we have had within the medicine, and the many conversations we have had with the spirits, they have given us certain rules and a simple code of conduct. Please go over the Ground Rules prior to attendance to ensure you receive the most benefit from your experience.
It is our goal to teach you to be able to do this on your own in the future, and connect with spirit reliably and directly without having to learn the rules and code of conduct the hard way. We have learned some of these things the hard way, through others experiences and some of our own directly. Our relationship with spirit has progressed to the point that they will often just come and casually sit with us, and explain things we do not yet understand. Some of these things are the rules, and the reasons behind them. The Spiritual Picnic is the most basic ritual one can do which includes the rules and precautions that we have been made aware of thus far.
